The building housing the former DiModa restaurants, Trocadéro has been sold

A restaurant building that most recently housed a Milwaukee pizzeria to the east has been sold.

The building at 1758 N. Water St. recently housed DiModa Pizza & Hotspot. Before that, the building housed the former Trocadéro restaurant.

Commercial real estate firm The Barry Company said Monday that the restaurant’s 8,090-square-foot building had been sold to Mexcaleria & Cocina LLC.

Mexcaleria & Cocina is a limited liability company headquartered on the south side of Milwaukee, according to state corporation registration data.

The building is located at N. Water and E. Pearson Streets and is located across Water Street from the River House luxury apartment development.

The Barry Company’s David Barry and Nick Zurich represented the seller in the transaction, the Barry Company said in a statement announcing the sale.

“Milwaukee has a large restaurant presence, especially on Water Street,” Zurich said in the statement. “Existing restaurants have remained in business during the pandemic and now new businesses are moving in to take advantage of all the business.”
