Romanian residential building permits from January to November jump 25.3% year-on-year


BUCHAREST (Romania), Jan.7 (SeeNews) – Romania issued 47,276 building permits for residential projects in January-November, up 25.1% year-on-year, the National Statistics Office said on Friday, INS.

In November alone, Romania issued 3,902 building permits, 72% of which were for projects located in rural areas, the INS said in a monthly statement.

The regional distribution shows an increase in the number of building permits issued for residential buildings, compared to November 2020, in the regions of South Muntenia, Center, West, Bucharest-Ilfov and South-East.

In the northwest, southwestern Oltenia and northeastern regions, the number of building permits was down year-on-year in November.

The INS did not provide any figures for the value of projects that were granted permits.

Romania issued 41,311 building permits for residential projects in 2020, down 2.9% year on year.
