Man in his 20s dies after building fall in New Years tragedy

A man died after falling from a building.

Police received a report from the North West Ambulance Service around 9:20 a.m. today that a man in his 20s fell from an apartment building on Fox Street in Everton.

Officers attended the scene and the man was unfortunately pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

An air ambulance also attended and landed near Everton Park around 9:30 a.m. today.

Forensic pathologists were also on the scene and a police cordon surrounding the building has been put in place.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said the man’s death was considered “unexplained” and officers were working to identify his closest relatives.

They said: “We can confirm that emergency services visited Fox Street, Liverpool on Saturday January 1 following a report that a man fell from apartments.

Officers received a report from the North West Ambulance Service at around 9.20am that a man in his twenties had fallen.

“He was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

“Her death is considered unexplained and officers are working to identify her closest relatives.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
