REPORTS

FLIGHT, 2022-02040274 400 Block 23rd St S. At approximately 11:51 p.m. Feb. 4, police were dispatched to report a fight in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was entering the business when the three unknown suspects came out of the business and physically pushed the victim. The victim confronted the suspects who then turned around and allegedly began beating the victim. The victim fell to the ground and the suspects continued to beat her before stealing her purse containing credit cards and personal effects. The suspects then fled on foot. The victim sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries and did not require medical attention. A lookout notice was issued and the suspects were located in the area and taken into custody without incident. Diajha Manning, 18, of Washington DC and Ezell Hill, 19, of Washington DC were arrested and charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery and are being held on bail. Petitions have been requested for the third juvenile suspect.

FLIGHT, 2022-02050089, block 1500 of Crystal Drive. At around 9:45 a.m. on February 5, the police were dispatched to report that a robbery had just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect entered a business and allegedly began concealing goods in a bag before heading out without paying. An employee confronted the suspect and asked him to return the items, but the suspect pushed the employee and fled on foot. Employees followed the suspect and reported him to incoming officers. The suspect disregarded officers’ orders and actively resisted arrest. After a brief scuffle, the suspect was taken into custody. During a search incident to the arrest, officers found a tool on his person and determined that he had thrown additional tools on the ground as he fled the business. Judge Hatcher, 27, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with robbery, possession of burglary tools and obstruction of justice.

ASSAULT BY MOB, 2022-02050200, 5100 block of 8th Road S. At approximately 7:58 p.m. on February 5, police were dispatched to report a fight. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male victim was outside an apartment building with two female victims when they were approached by a black sedan. Five suspects, two of whom were known, exited the vehicle, brandished firearms and assaulted the male victim. The two female victims were struck by the suspects as they attempted to intervene. The victims were then able to enter a nearby apartment building and contact the dispatcher. The male victim suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries and refused treatment from doctors. Suspect One is described as a man in his twenties, 5ft 7in tall and with black hair. Suspect 2 is described as a medium build Hispanic male, approximately 5’7″, 20-30 years old, wearing a black jacket and black pants. Suspect three is described as a medium build Hispanic male, approximately 5’8″, 20-30 years old, wearing a ski mask, gray top and blue jeans. Suspect four is described as a medium build Hispanic male, approximately 5’10”, 20-30 years old, wearing black clothing and a ski mask. Suspect Five is described as a medium build black male, approximately 6’0″, 20-30 years old, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a black gaiter. The investigation is ongoing.

FLIGHT, 2022-02050205, block 4900 of Columbia Pike. At around 8:15 p.m. on February 5, police were dispatched to report an assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that two juvenile suspects entered a business and began concealing merchandise. An employee confronted them and Suspect 2 left the scene with the unpaid merchandise. As Suspect One tried to follow him, another employee confronted him and tried to stop him from leaving. Suspect One then attempted to strike the employee before fleeing on foot. Suspect One is described as a black male, approximately 14 to 16 years old, 5’5″ to 5’7″ tall and of average build. He wore a black jacket and gray sweatpants. Suspect 2 is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 14 to 16 years old, 5’5″ to 5’7″, of average build. He wore a black hoodie, gray jacket, black pants, and a black ski mask. The investigation is ongoing.
