Apartments under construction for part of Frisco’s Brinkmann Ranch

An apartment builder in Dallas is preparing to begin construction on part of a former ranch in Frisco.

Trammell Crow Residential plans to build over 500 apartments at Coit Road and Eldorado Parkway on what used to be part of Brinkmann Ranch.

In 2020, Landon Development acquired 637 acres of the ranch, which is one of Frisco’s largest vacant lots. The property is on the west side of Coit Road between Main Street and Eldorado Parkway.

Landon Development purchased the property for a $1 billion development of 4,700 homes and apartments.

Plano-based Landon, which is a custom home builder, sold the apartment development sites to Crow Residential.

The apartment builder plans to open a rental community this summer that will be completed in early 2024, according to planning documents filed with the state.

The more than $118 million project will include a dozen three-story apartment buildings. Hensley Lamkin Rachel Inc. is the architect.

Matt Enzler of Crow Residential said the builder is buying more than 100 acres that will allow for 2,300 rental units.

Crow Residential is one of the busiest apartment builders in North Texas, with multiple projects in the area.

The Brinkmann Ranch once comprised over 5,000 acres at Preston Road and Main Street in the heart of Frisco. In the 1970s, parts of the ranch were used for filming dallas TV shows.
