Amazon and Clara White Mission plan new buildings
A new Amazon facility is added in Jacksonville for the leading e-commerce provider.
Amazon.com Services has obtained a permit for a stand-alone rack installation at 10501 Cold Storage Road, near Busch Drive. It’s just north of Heckscher Drive and Immeson Park Boulevard in a heavy industrial area, according to City of Jacksonville permits that were issued this month.
The building is expected to cost $ 13.97 million to construct. A rack installation is typically a storage area for products that are being shipped. Indiana Industrial Services LLC is the construction company that will handle the project.
Amazon continues to thrive in Jacksonville with distribution centers on the Northside on Pecan Park Road and 103rd Street at the Cecil Commerce Center on the Westside and additional facilities on Faye Road and Lane Avenue and converted the old Kmart on Blanding Boulevard.

Mission to get a new building
The Clara White Mission Inc. will also get a new building soon.
City permits show a 6,060 square foot building erected for its White Harvest Farms operation at 4850 Moncrief Road.
The project is expected to cost $ 1.5 million and include the demolition of existing structures and the addition of new utilities and parking.
GM Engineering will be the responsible construction company.
Upgrading Medicinal Marijuana
An existing building on Jacksonville’s Southside is being converted to a medicinal marijuana business.
City permits were granted this month to convert the existing building at 11450 Beach Blvd. just west of Interstate 295 at an outlet for Sanctuary Medicinals.
The dispensary business is owned by ABC Properties Limited. Alterations and repairs to the building will cost approximately $ 1.15 million.
Silas Construction & Development LLC is the construction company that will handle the project.
